Fridays Around Phoenix is an ongoing series here on The Phoenix Real Estate Blog. It was created to fit within our Things To Do Around Phoenix category, to showcase all the places and events we love about the Phoenix area. Whether you’re a snowbird, an Arizona native like my wife, an out-of-stater wanting to visit Phoenix, or none of the above, I hope you’ll join us each Friday for a new installment of Fridays Around Phoenix.
Have you ever craved an old fashioned bowl of ice cream, a root beer float, or a banana split?
If so, you’ve been craving Sugar Bowl in Old Town Scottsdale!
The owners of Sugar Bowl served their first dessert delicacy to the public the day before Christmas in 1958. Today, the same owners are still there, and the desserts are just as delicious as ever. There’s no better testimonial to this than their continued success and regular 5-star reviews on Yelp.
The atmosphere is relaxed and unassuming, not what most would expect in a South Scottsdale venue, and the service is friendly and attentive. For lunch, dinner, or something in between, Sugar Bowl hits the spot…the sweet spot, that is.
I don’t want to say too much, though, because this place really speaks for itself. But, if you’re struggling for something to try first, I like the Old Dutch Chocolate malt, and my wife loves the Top Hat Sundae. You can’t go wrong with either, but I’m more interested to know what you think of Sugar Bowl. Have you been before? Tell me in the comments section below!!
