Lori Landis’ new collection entitled, “My Thoughts Revealed,” will be on display at ArtSpace on Sixth in Old Town Scottsdale, Arizona from February 22nd through February 28th, 2010.  An artist reception will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2010 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.

Lori Landis is a local professional artist who focuses on abstract expressionistic paintings.  Childhood polio left Lori with limited use of her left arm, forcing her to become innovative and creative when it came to use of painting space and materials.  Lori works on a flat architects table, allowing her to paint and see the canvas in a way that differs from artists whom work on easels.  Working mostly in acrylics, Lori uses many other materials in her collage works.  Charcoals, metals, gold, copper leaf, artists crayon, pastels and heavy gels are some of the media forms Lori prefers to use.

What makes Lori’s work captivating is not only her use of brilliant color, but also her ability to show her personal journey, spirit and growth in all of her paintings.  Lori’s personal journey as an artist is to grow herself as a person, leaving her with the courage to face whom she is and be comfortable in her own skin.  Being in the present and listening to her inner and outer spiritual sources enable her to portray her most vulnerable truth in all of her paintings.
